Privacy policy

TakeACharge (“the app”) is offered by MvH Atelier (“we”). This privacy policy describes how we handle information in connection with the app on Google Play and the App Store.

1. What data do we process?

The app calculates and compares driving costs on your device (electric driving versus fuel). In broad terms:

• Data you enter (such as consumption, prices and names of saved vehicles) stays locally on your device. There is no account and no upload of those calculations to us.
• We do not sell your data and we do not use it for personalised advertising or tracking through this app.
• The app is not meant to process special categories of personal data. Do not enter such data on purpose.

A subscription is billed by Google Play or Apple. They process the payment under their own privacy policy. We do not receive full payment card details, and that payment does not give us your calculations.

2. What do we use data for?

• To provide the app’s functionality: calculating, comparing, and storing what you enter on your device.
• To make the subscription possible through Google Play’s or Apple’s payment system.

3. Retention

Data that exists only locally on your device stays there until you erase it in the app or delete the app. We do not host our own server for your calculation results.

On Android, saved vehicles, tariffs and app settings are excluded from cloud backup. A backup you make of the device yourself can still copy the files.

4. Sharing with others

A result leaves the device only when you share or save it yourself. We do not receive that copy, and we do not share the contents of your calculations with advertising networks.

Google or Apple may process data as part of the store and payment process (for example when you subscribe). See their privacy policy for that.

5. Security

We aim to build the app according to common practice for Android and iOS. Data on your device is covered by your device’s security (passcode, Face ID, and so on).

6. Your rights

Depending on where you live (for example in the European Economic Area), you may have rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, objection and data portability. Because much of the data sits locally on your device, you can also manage it directly by erasing data in the app or deleting the app.

7. Changes

We may update this policy. The “Last updated” date at the top will then change. After important changes, you may need to read the policy again.
